Giant Mustard

One hot day in summer I was at a barbecue they were making hot dogs, cheeseburgers, hamburger and bratwurst there were also a lot of fruit and side dishes but there is nothing like cold lemonade on a hot summer day.  They had some games set up for the kids and adults there was volleyball net, corn hole and a swimming pool.  It was almost time to eat people were drying off getting their plates and there drinks ready but there was a slight problem there was no mustard so my mom made me run to the store to get some.  I get in my Lamborghini Aventador and drive off but I ran into some trouble on the way there I came to a stoplight and a Porsche 911 Spyder in the next lane we both revved the engines the light turned green and the Porsche took off but it can’t match the speed of the Lambo and I zoomed passed it. I made it to the store alive and double parking of course I walk in looking for the mustard and it took me a while to find it but I did.  There were a lot of different sizes it went from a tablespoon of mustard to a 100oz container and there was one 100oz left and I went to grab it and so did this other man we both had a hold of it there was only one way to settle it and it was to joust. When we were in the middle of jousting the Wal-Mart manager came out and said he had to kick us out and right after he said it the man punched him and knocked him out cold.  Now was my chance I grabbed the 100oz mustard and ran with it getting to the self checkout line before he could catch me.  As I was leaving I saw that they were towing my Lamborghini I ran to the car started it and drive off getting into a police chase and I ditched them and I got back to the barbecue with the mustard and my mom and dad got mad that I spent 357 dollars on mustard.

Street lawyer final blog

In the first article they helped the homeless people get money by writing newspaper and selling it on the streets. But people got mad and the cops began to fine them 50 dollars each for selling the paper with out a license.  This can be compared to the 14th Street Clinic by them both helping out the homeless and trying to get them some money to live and not begging for money every day on the streets.  Also people are enjoying to work with the homeless and want them to be clean with drugs and safe and not get into trouble by the law not a lot of people would do that.  For the newspaper it is only 35cents for one copy when the retail is $1.25 it is 16 pages long and has color photographs.  I think it is a good cause for them because there experiencing many things they couldn't when they were living on the streets and there staying away from drugs. 14th street clinic does kind of the same thing because they are there to get the homeless off the streets, and to help them out and be there for them like when ruby wants her kid back Mike will only give her her son if she gets clean and stays off drugs.

In the second article is about housing for the homeless so they can get them to shelter and hopefully stop long term homelessness.  There has been 73 percent reduction in chronic homelessness in Cuyahoga County, this house is for the homeless to get clean and to look for jobs so they can end up living on their own, and this house also is there for when get out and live on their own they will have a better understanding about living on their own for when they get a job and make their own money so they can move somewhere.  On the 14th street clinic they will try and win cases for them so they can get money and get a home so there not on the streets so they can try and find a job for them self.  About 20 percent of the homeless living in that house is known as chronically homeless.  Chronically homeless people are people that have had a year or longer of homelessness before they have moved to the house.  the building they are staying in is a 11 million dollar building with 65 furnished and subsidized studio apartments it is located on Buckeye Road near East 116th Street this is the ninth opened by Housing First, a coalition of more than 40 private and public organizations. On the street lawyer its like when there helping out with the food shelter and Mike sees the lady with her three children and he wants them to get a home and new clothes because he feels bad for them because there it a little kid with them that shouldn't be living like that.

These topics are affected by the D.C. setting because there are a lot of different races and they are all sorts of them in D.C. but a lot of them have a good amount of money and the ones that don't are homeless.  the street lawyer is a good example of power because its based in the the capital of the US and it has the most power there so Michael and his workers have he most power and there trying to get the homeless a home so Michele's firm is like the government and the homeless are the people struggling in the world and the government are trying to help them survive that is how I see it.

Drake and Sweeney harass Michael by evicting more homeless people so Michael has to do more work and so its like a message like you should of never left the firm to be a street lawyer.

Michael's first couple days are way different because he is used to a big office and a nice work environment, and its different because its not the same as working at the firm the cases are different the clients are different the workers are different.

Michael and mister are alike because they both take charge and wanted people to help out the homeless.

street lawyer 2

He and Clair have both lost by devoicing each other and all of the stuff they have to give up for one another.  They could have worked it out and tried to make it work but they decided they were done and that’s what they wanted.
Hector Palma helped Michael by helping him find evidence for some of his cases.
Michael might be going through a midlife crisis because he quit his job where he’s getting paid the big bucks for a job he’s not making anything close to what he was making.  And he’s giving back to the community by helping out at soup kitchens.
Michaels life is changing at a downward spiral because I feel like he’s not happy and he needs a break from work because that’s all he does is work.  He got into a car accident so I think that opened his eyes a little because he almost died two times in the book.  And he is helping out at soup kitchens after work so when he gets home he is probably tired, so he works then goes to bed every day it seems like.

His actions have been justified because he is willing to do anything for his job even if its breaking the law.

the street lawyer

Michael believed that Mister wasnt going to kill the lawyers because they didn't do anything wrong.  Mister was just there to prove a point and the point was, that the lawyers were making all that money from there jobs and have a nice home and they cant give any to the homeless people or help out charities.
Michael and Claire's relationship is complicated because they both work 80 hours a week and they never get to see each other but when they do they are so tired and they just go to bed.  but i think that there relationship is making Michael to leave the firm because hes just depressed and he doesn't want to get a divorce.
The situations that they face are that the could have nobody or that they suffer from PTSD and that could make them go a little crazy in the head and they might do something crazy like that mister did to the lawyers.  my view does change on mister because he was just trying to tell them on how he lives and that he has nothing and they can buy almost anything they want

Edgar Allen Poe

Edgar Allen Poe was a great poet and we know him by his horror stories but he uses a lot of symbolizing in his story to help you out with the theme but one of this stories that we all know is The Tell Tale Heart.  The theme in Tell Tale Heart is never judge a book by its cover.  Just because the person has something wrong with them doesn’t mean you have to hate them or try and put harm on them.  If you do that with everyone then you won’t have any friends because everyone has flaws and stuff wrong with them maybe if you get to know them you won’t hate them as much or want to get rid of them.  So before you go around killing people because you don’t like what they look like they and get to know them and not burry them under the floorboards.  There is a lot of different themes in the story but I chose that one because it makes sense to me.
